Proposal for a Midlands Arts Centre for Young People

Proposal for a Midlands Arts Centre for young people

August 1960

This is the first page of a proposal prepared by John English concerning the establishment in Cannon Hill Park of a Midland Arts Centre, which he hoped would be administered by an independent trust. It was presented to the Parks Committee, who recommended that the City Council support the scheme. John English was director of the Arena Theatre company, which had been putting on plays in Cannon Hill Park during the 1950s.
