University of Birmingham Council Minutes

1914

At this Special Meeting of the University of Birmingham Council on 11 August 1914 action was agreed to immediately implement previously agreed directives to hand over the university buildings on the Edgbaston campus to the military so that they could be adapted for use as a military hospital; among those in attendance were Gilbert Barling, Neville Chamberlain and Margery Fry.
