Description:Britain's most celebrated oral/dub poet Benjamin Zephaniah was born in Birmingham and grew up in Handsworth during the 1970s. Zephaniah popularised the poetic form of dub poetry which originates from Jamaica and reawakened many people to the oral quality of poetry.

The above flyer for a performance by Zephaniah was produced whilst he was writer-in-residence with the Africa Arts Collective in Liverpool.
