Description:Home 2 was initially a home for girls only and, as such, was on the left hand side of the drive. In its very early years, it no doubt had mainly younger girls as the practice was to have younger children nearer to the Lodge, older children nearer to the infirmary.
By 1948, Home 2 had become mixed with accommodation for 16 boys and girls. In 1949 it became known as Paxhall.
By 1979 the number of beds had been reduced to 12. Like most of the Homes in the Gardens, the number of beds had been reduced as it was thought that children could be better cared for in smaller groups. The home closed in 1982.
