Description:<a href="http://www.search.suburbanbirmingham.org.uk/engine/resource/default.asp?resource=1823">Lewis Lloyd</a> captured an important aspect of Edwardian society with this photograph. Still without full electoral suffrage, women found that libraries offered opportunities for them to relax and to gain access to educational and learning resources. Yet this was within strict parameters, as indicated by the notice ‘This table for Ladies’.
