Description:Built in 1815, this lock is immediately east of the <a href="http://www.search.suburbanbirmingham.org.uk/engine/resource/default.asp?resource=1849">junction</a> between the Stratford and the Worcester & Birmingham Canals, its purpose being to prevent water loss from the Stratford Canal. Shown here in disrepair, it is now Grade II* listed and is a reminder of the area’s <a href="http://www.search.suburbanbirmingham.org.uk/engine/resource/default.asp?resource=1841">industrial heritage</a>.
