Description:Such cards enabled members to access the ‘divi’, possibly the most familiar aspect of <a href="http://www.search.suburbanbirmingham.org.uk/engine/resource/default.asp?resource=1926">co-operative societies</a> and certainly a key element in fostering loyalty and affection. The payment of a dividend from profits accrued was always welcome and often provided a critical supplement to domestic budgets.
