Description:The children sharing breakfast in this photograph are believed to be siblings although we do not know their names. Haas was born in Monchengladbach, Germany. She was a Jewish refugee who settled in Birmingham in 1938. In Germany she had specialised in photo-journalism and many of her photographs from this period are of children. They often depict family relationships either between siblings or parents and their children. Once in Birmingham she established a studio in Moseley where she focused on studio portraiture. She also worked as a photographer for the Birmingham Repertory Theatre.
