Description:This 17th century manuscript is about family relationships and the responsibilities of parents and their children towards each other. The document clearly shows that childhood was seen as a distinct and separate stage in life. Printed conduct manuals and child-rearing advice became more common in the 18th century. They were originally written by physicians and religious ministers and described appropriate behaviour and morality for children.
