Description:Beaumont Albright was born on 21 August 1861 at the family home in Edgbaston. He was the youngest of eight children of Quakers Arthur Albright and his wife Rachel.
Beaumont is sitting on a small stool beside his mother with his arm resting on her lap. In her letters to him Rachel instructed him to be ‘loving, patient and obliging’, not to use ‘rude or naughty words’, to ‘get on with thy lessons’, and to keep his promise of reading his Bible ‘night and morning’.
