Description:This photograph was not fixed in the album. It was produced and published to be sold locally by a professional photographer. It is a very carefully posed image. The children have been organised to give the impression that they have been disturbed while engaging in learning activities. The reproduction images on the wall include Millais’ Cherry Ripe. It was one of several reproduction paintings given by philanthropists to Birmingham schools in the 1880s.
