Description:This photo shows me giving a service at Brookfield New Testament Church of God in 1998. I was known as Bishop William W Brown at that time. I enjoyed my work and thanked God for blessing my life.

My name is William Wilberforce Brown and I was born in the Parish of Hanover in the District of Cash Hill, Jamaica. I came to England and resided in the city of London for two years. I resided with my sister for one year and six months in Shepherds Bush, which is a district of West London in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. It was so hard to find a place to worship that I would have to take the train, then the bus and then walk a little distance just to pray.

I lived with my family in Bristol for 13 years and I was a Pastor for the New Testament Church of God in Mountpelia, Bristol. I have also lived and worked in Liberia in Africa. During this project I was able to share my knowledge with others in the Techno Elders group that Bristol was a port used in the transatlantic slave trade. I went to visit and saw how it was used as a holding fort for slaves from Africa, who were being transported to America and the Caribbean.

I have enjoyed doing this project work with the Worker’s Educational Association. I especially enjoyed the internet searches and finding out about globalisation issues. It does affect us all and we must do whatever we can to help.
