Description:As part of the 'Birmingham Stories' project, a volunteer has been working with some of the archive materials on faith and identity.
Her exhibition focuses on a photographic archive collection called, 'I'm A Believer', created by Nick Hedges in 1976-1977. The collection features 36 images in total. Manpreet decided to focus on her favourite five images from the collection and provide her own personal responses as a text to accompany the photographic subject matter- faith in the West Midlands.
As well as writing a personal response to the images, Manpreet took photos of the collection as she worked. In her exhibition, you can also view the full image taken by Nick Hedges.
Once Manpreet had finished her responses, Nick Hedges was kind enough to offer his reflection on her work. In the photographer's captions, you can read further information and some additional context for the 'I'm A Believer' collection.
What response would you make to the images shown here? Contact Birminghamstories@yahoo.co.uk if you want to let us know your view.....
