Description:Formed in 1989 by Sudha Bhuchar and Kristine Landon-Smith, Tamasha Theatre Company was designed to reflect through theatre 'the Asian experience.' Using classic texts and work by contemporary writers, Tamasha continues to show what life is like for South Asians in both the Indian subcontinent and the Diaspora.
Above is a programme for the production of East is East by Ayub Khan-Din which was performed at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre from 8th-26th October 1996. The play was subsequently made into a film starring many actors from the original stage play. Photographs of the Birmingham production and other Tamasha productions such as A Yearning can be found in the Sir Barry Jackson Archive at Central Library (MS 2339.)
