Description:I understand that through Fairtrade a better deal is offered to farmers to help them trade to get out of poverty. Better trading could mean smarter farming, employing workers, income to send children to school and to buy them medicine if they become sick.

Through my course work I visited Tesco and found that they sell Fairtrade bananas from Kenya, amongst other retail products and I have started to buy them. Tesco sells about 13 different Fairtrade fruits and a few of my favourites are mango, organic pineapple, clementine and grapes. I am happy to pay a little bit more if it helps any third world countries. It is a good thing that Fairtrade exists to help fruit producers by guaranteeing them fair terms and fair prices. This will give them more control over their lives and help them overcome poverty in as many ways as possible.

So please support Fairtrade products when you visit your local supermarket. It does make a big difference.
