Description:This detached house was bought by the Council in 1966 with the intention of adapting it to accommodate between 12 and 14 children.

According to the electoral roll, the live-in house parents from when it opened in 1967 to 1974 were Albert and Monica Summerfield. From 1974 onwards a range of staff were resident in the home. From 1982 onwards, no staff are listed as being resident. Along with most other Council children’s homes, staff no longer lived in.

In the 1980s it had accommodation for 14 children – both boys and girls.

It underwent extensive refurbishment in 2006 after which it accommodated six young people aged between 12 and 16.
