Description:Nicholls Street was not in Birmingham but in West Bromwich. It had been in use as a children’s home in, and for, West Bromwich. Once it was empty, Birmingham took it over.
It was a three storey terraced house which had nine children living there when it was in use by West Bromwich.
As it had already been used as a children’s home, it needed little adapting. It was leased on 1st November 1964 and opened for Birmingham children on 30th November of the same year.
Birmingham used it as a short-stay home for nine children.
It was initially leased for one year but this was extended. The lease was eventually terminated in September 1966.
