Description:Little is currently known about this children’s home.

It was certainly open and functioning by 1979 but may not have been in use by Birmingham City Council for very long at this point - probably opening in the mid 1970s. Before that time, it was probably run by Warwickshire County Council. That was the Social Services authority in Sutton until 1974, when the borough was absorbed by Birmingham under local government reorganisation.

By 1979, it had 16 beds and accommodated both boys and girls.

East View House closed as children’s home in June 1986.
