Date:1940

Description:Ticket advertisements provided transport operators with additional income streams, which became crucial in the 1950s as travelling patterns altered. By the end of that decade, boom in public transport experienced in the immediate post-war period had ended. Rising car ownership reduced passenger loadings generally and television saw journeys to cinemas decline rapidly.
