Description:The Pageant’s fourth episode took the form of two sections; Section 1, The Visit of Charles I to Aston Hall in 1642 and Section 2, The Siege of Aston Hall by Roundhead troops. ‘Although, during the Civil War, Birmingham took that side of the Parliamentarians, Sir Thomas Holte of Aston Hall remained loyal to the King’, symbolised by the Royal Standard with the Holte banner being flown above the Hall.
