Description:This drawing looks like an internment camp. It is unclear whether it relates to German concentration camps or British internment camps, or when exactly it was drawn. Like many other refugees Hans was interned by the British as an ‘enemy alien’ in 1940. After his release in 1941 he trained at the Birmingham School of Art. Hans went on to be a painter and sculptor.
