A Birmingham based black women’s vocal group, Black Voices; “voices born and nurtured in the black church and thoroughly grounded in the music of an international black community”, taking inspiration from the oral traditions of Africa, sounds of the Caribbean, with the influence of modern arrangement, Black Voices describe their music as having a message. Vanley Burke had been involved in the set design for the groups’ ‘Central Encounter’ concert.
