Description:Black Dance Development Trust

Numsa, a South African Dancer. She has since returned to South Africa and is running a project for young people in Hillsborough, Johannesburg. During the period this photograph was taken, the Black Dance Development Trust, during its existence, organized a number of summer schools for African dancers.

The Black Dance Development Trust, a group based in Birmingham in the 1980s, organised summer schools where people could take courses in African dance. Vanley Burke was commissioned to record one of the summer schools held in Leicester.
