Description:Map of Birmingham, 1810. This is part of an early nineteenth century map of Birmingham, a document which helps us to see the development of the Jewish Community. In the very bottom right hand corner behind New Street, we see the ‘froggery’ and a building described as a ‘synagogue’. Then, in the centre left portion of the map, we can see a ‘Jew's Burial Ground’. As the Jewish community grew, it needed places to worship, to work, and be laid to rest.
