Description:Image:Harry Levine Jewish Community Press Book Cuttings 1937-38. The Alexandra Theatre remains a well known and popular theatre in Birmingham. Yet not many people are aware that one of its most important early fathers was a member of the Jewish Community. Leon Salberg would become known nationally as the 'pantomine king'. It also gives information on a diverse life that begin in Warsaw, took part in the Boer War, and later increased Birmingham's reputation for entertainment and the arts.
