Jacob Jacobs became one of the founders of the Great Western arcade Building, whihc still stands in Birmingham City centre, next to St Phillips Cathedral church yard.
This commentary on the Great Western Arcade calls it on of the architectural "lions" of late nineteenth century Birmingham. Noticeably, it makes no mention of Jacobs role in the development.
Yet from his families business in Vittoria Street, to his development of this impressives shopping centre (the selfridges of its day?), it is clear that Jewish entrepreneurs have helped to Shape the history of Birmingham.
